About TWK Action Sports
We Started Where the Kids Are

Not in a boardroom. At the gate, on a Saturday, watching a kid learn more in three hours than most people learn all week — and then watching him load up early because his family couldn't cover the entry.

Our Story
Forty Years in the Sport, and the Same Lesson Every Time

Brandon Beabout has been around motorcycles for more than forty years — as a rider, a racer, a mechanic, and eventually as the guy other parents pushed their kids toward for coaching. Over that time he worked on youth racing program development with major manufacturers and mentored a long list of young riders.

Somewhere in there, the thing he was actually coaching stopped being technique.

He watched a quiet kid who wouldn't make eye contact learn to walk a track, form an opinion, and defend it to an adult. He watched a kid with a short fuse learn that losing his temper cost him two seconds a lap, and figure out how to manage it — because the stopwatch told him to, not because anyone lectured him. He watched kids who were failing in every classroom they'd ever sat in discover they could learn something hard if it mattered to them.

None of that showed up on a results sheet. All of it showed up in who those kids became.

TWK Action Sports was built to do that on purpose instead of by accident — to take the thing this sport does to young people naturally and put real structure, real coaching, and real access behind it.

Since 2005, more than 10,000 riders have come up through these ranks, across more than 250 camps. A handful of them race for a living. The rest are mechanics, business owners, crew chiefs, parents, and people who just turned out steady — which was always the actual goal.

Mission
Our Mission

TWK Action Sports uses action sports and motorsports to teach young people how to use the tools they've been given — building the preparation, judgment, ownership, and resilience that make capable adults. We help each young person choose the path that fits their dream, on the bike or behind it, and back it with funding and a written plan — removing the financial and structural barriers that keep capable kids from the opportunity.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

How We Operate

The sport is the curriculum, not the goal

We coach riding seriously because riding is what teaches the rest. A rider who leaves us faster but not more capable is a rider we failed.

Progression is earned, not given.

Skills come in an order and riders move up when they've demonstrated they're ready — not when they ask, and not when a parent pushes. Learning that you can't skip steps is worth more than any single step.

Nobody rides it for you

Riders prep their own bikes, own their own results, and answer for their own conduct. We help. We don't do it for them.

Safety is competence, not caution

We don't keep kids safe by telling them to be careful. We keep them safe by making them genuinely capable and by building every session around what they can actually handle today. That's also how kids learn to assess risk honestly — a tool they'll use for the rest of their lives.

Character gets coached out loud

How you treat a coach, a competitor, a volunteer, and a bad day are all things we name, teach, and expect. They're not a bonus outcome of the program. They're the program.

A dream gets a plan

We take what a kid says they want seriously enough to write it down and build a path to it. Encouragement is cheap. A plan, a schedule, and someone checking in is what actually moves a rider.

Families ride together

A young rider with a family who understands the sport lasts. Our programs are built for parents to be present, not parked

Funded, not fee-based

We pursue sponsorship and donations so we can say yes to families who can't write the check. That's a harder way to run a program, and it's the only one that matches the mission.

OUR VISION

A Home Track for Every Family

Our long-term goal is a dedicated TWK training facility and family park — a place built specifically to teach, where a first-time rider and a national-level racer can both show up on a Saturday and get exactly what they need.

Graduated skill zones

progression areas that step riders up only as they earn it, from first throttle to race pace

Astroturf riding courses

low-consequence surfaces where technique and judgment can be built without the cost of a mistake

Balance and control courses

the fundamentals that separate riders who last from riders who don't

Free-ride areas

Space to just ride, which is still the best teaching tool ever invented

Shaded seating, restrooms a

nd family amenities

Because a track a parent dreads is a track kids stop coming to

Local concessions

Feeding families and supporting Bexar and Comal County businesses at the same time

We're building toward it deliberately, and we're already running programs today with what we have: a [24- foot] race trailer built out to bring coaching, equipment, and structure to whatever track we're at.

COACHING
Who's Actually on the Track With Your Kid

Brandon leads the coaching at every TWK program — four decades of riding, racing, and developing young riders, and the person accountable for what happens in every session.

On select camps, we bring in top professional racers and coaches to work with our riders directly. Not a meet-and-greet or an autograph line — a small group, a full day, and a pro giving a twelve-year-old the same feedback they'd give a teammate. For most families that kind of access simply isn't purchasable, and for a young rider it's often the day everything clicks.

Governance note:

TWK Action Sports is governed by a volunteer board of directors and operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

Come See It for Yourself

Come out to a camp, ask us the hard questions, or just tell us what your kid is into. We'd rather have a conversation than a brochure.
